Temple of Bu

The Temple of is an ancient temple located in the White Leaf Desert in Desert Island.

In both games, there are a lot of Kashes hidden in the Temple, so it also serves as a place to accumulate large sums of currency that are required further in the plot.

LBA[]

The Old Wiseman of Desert Island claims the temple was buried by a violent sandstorm, although it seems to rather be a subterranean structure. When the temple is fully shown in a cinematic in LBA and on the cross-section of Twinsun in LBA2, it's shown that instead, it's floating on a piece of rock within the planet's mantle. In LBA2 rollercoaster cinematic, the floating building is shown to be a separate entity from the underground complex. How all these depictions coexist is never explained.

In LBA, Twinsen finds the old rabibunny at the entrance of the temple, that tells him to get the Book of Bù from inside the temple. Twinsen then enters the temple, that is guarded by skeletons and traps as falling rocks, and retrieves the book, proving he is the chosen one that the legend speaks of.

LBA2[]

In LBA2, the temple has been turned into a touristic attraction called Temple Park, and a rollercoaster has been installed. Although the park offers an entrance through a cavern, Twinsen can enter the temple from the old entrance by jumping into the well, where he can find lots of Kashes. Twinsen can ride the cart and guide it by turning some arrows (by throwing the Magic Ball) and access some doors (they open only when Twinsen is near; the empty cart will just bounce and go back). By riding the cart Twinsen can jump to some high places and get mushrooms hiding bonuses. Guiding the cart to the end of the route offers a cutscene.

The Esmers volunteer to make work on the Temple tunnels, but actually they are building a secret base underneath the Bald Mountain. Later they take control of the Park and Temple. Twinsen has to infiltrate the Esmer base to steal a shuttle to go to Emerald Moon.
