Mies van der Rooh is an architect who lives with his father in a house next to Twinsen's, in Bug Street, Citadel Island.

In LBA, he works for FunFrock. When Twinsen needs a way of entering the teleportation center, he helps him by giving him his identification card, and by giving him advice on how to enter.

In LBA2, Mies doesn't appear, as he has passed away at some point before the events.
